原理
PFKM is a protein encoded by the PKFM gene which is approximately 85,2 kDa. PFKM is localised to the cytoplasm. It is involved in glucose metabolism, carbon metabolism and AMP-activated protein kinase signalling. It exists as three isozymes which function as subunits of the mammalian tetramer phosphofructokinase. It catalyses the phosphorylation of D-fructose 6-phosphate to fructose 1,6-bisphosphate by ATP, the first committing step of glycolysis. PFKM is expressed in the nervous system, muscle, heart, lung and kidney. Mutations in the PFKM gene may result in glycogen storage disease, mcardle disease and phosphoglycerate kinase deficiency. STJ95045 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of PFKM protein.
