S100A1 is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and nucleus of a wide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100A1 is expressed by striated muscle, endothelium and chondrocytes. Intracellularly, S100A1 regulates cytosolic Ca levels, and is part of the Hsp70/Hsp90 mutlichaperone complex that protects against protein denaturation. Synonyms: Monoclonal S100A1 antibody, Anti-S100A1 antibody, S100 calcium binding protein A1 antibody, S100 antibody, S100a antibody.
