- The Roundabout (Robo) receptors and their secreted ligands Slits mediate a repulsive guidance system that prevents inappropriate axons from crossing the CNS midline. Additionally, Slits and their Robo receptors can also promote axonal branching and cell migration. Robo2 is a receptor for Slit2 and Slit1, which are thought to guide axonal navigation at the ventral midline of the neural tube and projection of axons to different regions during neuronal development.Synonyms: KIAA1568, ROBO-2, Roundabout homolog 2
