Human PAPP-A antigen purified from placental blood is a heterotetrameric complex, consisting of two PAPP-A subunits and two pro-MBP subunits). Human PAPP-A antigen purified from atherosclerotic plaques is homodimeric consisting of 2 PAPP-A subunits.
