Background: Enables tRNA (cytidine-5-)-methyltransferase activity. Involved in tRNA methylation and tRNA stabilization. Predicted to be located in cytoplasm. Predicted to be active in nucleus. Is expressed in several structures, including central nervous system, genitourinary system, hemolymphoid system gland, olfactory epithelium, and thyroid gland.
