Background: Enables prostaglandin-D synthase activity and retinoid binding activity. Involved in cyclooxygenase pathway, gene expression, and regulation of circadian sleep/wake cycle, sleep. Acts upstream of or within negative regulation of male germ cell proliferation. Located in extracellular region. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system, central nervous system, genitourinary system, integumental system, and sensory organ. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in carotid artery disease. Orthologous to human PTGDS (prostaglandin D2 synthase).
