特异性

The antibody detects endogenous level of Keratin 18 only when phosphorylated at serine 33.

纯化方法

The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific phosphopeptide. The antibody against non-phosphopeptide was removed by chromatography using non-phosphopeptide corresponding to the phosphorylation site.

Peptide sequence around phosphorylation site of pSer33 (A-A-S (p) -V-Y) derived from Human Keratin 18 (CK18) . Antibodies were produced by immunizing rabbits with synthetic phosphopeptide and KLH conjugates.

背景

KRT18 encodes the type I intermediate filament chain keratin 18. Keratin 18, together with its filament partner keratin 8, are perhaps the most commonly found members of the intermediate filament gene family. They are expressed in single layer epithelial tissues of the body. utations in this gene have been linked to cryptogenic cirrhosis. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
