Immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections (2.5 μg/mL). Antigen retrieval: Steam slides in 0.01 M sodium citrate buffer, pH 6.0, at 99-100C for 20 min. Remove from heat and let stand at room temperature in buffer for 20 min. Rinse in 1xTBS with Tween (TBST) for 1 min. at room temperature. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Bace 1 is responsible for the proteolytic processing of the amyloid precursor protein (APP). Cleaves at the N-terminus of the A-beta peptide sequence, between residues 671 and 672 of APP, leads to the generation and extracellular release of beta-cleaved soluble APP, and a corresponding cell-associated C-terminal fragment which is later released by gamma-secretase.Synonyms: ASP2, Aspartyl protease 2, BACE, BACE-1, Beta-secretase 1, Beta-site APP cleaving enzyme 1, Beta-site amyloid precursor protein cleaving enzyme 1, KIAA1149, Memapsin-2, Membrane-associated aspartic protease 2
