This antibody is Specific for the COOH terminal of the Opioid Receptor kappa (346-380). This antisera has been characterized by Western blotting, ELISA, and Cell Staining Techniques. Cross-reactivity: Rat Kappa Opioid Receptor (346-380): 100 % Rat Kappa Opioid Receptor: 70 % Delta Opioid Receptor (360-372): 0 % Delta Opioid Receptor: 0 % Mu Opioid Receptor (391-398): 0 % Mu Opioid Receptor: 0 %.
免疫原
Peptide analogue of the carboxyl terminal of the Rat Kappa Opioid Receptor covalently attached to a carrier protein.
Suitable for Immunocytochemical and Western Immunoblotting (whole rat brainhomogenate, at a dilution of 1/1,500). This antiserum has been found to stain specific cells in various regions of PLP fixed ratbrain sections known to express the kappa opioid receptor using ABC techniques at adilution of 1/5,000. These include the nucleus accumbens, olfactory tubercule, caudate putamen and portionsof the amygdala. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

背景
Opioid is the term used to designate a group of compounds that are opium-like in their properties. These drugs have effects on perception of pain, consciousness, motor control, mood, and autonomic function, and can induce physical dependence. Pharmacological studies suggested that there are at least 3 major classes of opioid receptors, designated delta, kappa, and mu. They differ in their affinity for various opioid ligands and in their cellular distribution. Studies of the receptors in the mouse and rat show that they are structurally related and are members of the family of 7 transmembrane-spanning G protein-coupled receptors. The kappa opiod receptor inhibits neurotransmitter release by reducing calcium ion currents and increasing potassium ion conductance. It is the receptor for beta-endorphin.Synonyms: KOR-1, KOR1, OPRK, OPRK1
