Calnexin, also known as IP90, p88 and p90, is a member of the calnexin family of molecular chaperones. This protein is a calcium-binding, endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-associated protein that interacts transiently with newly synthesized N-linked glycoproteins, facilitating protein folding and assembly. It may also play a central role in the quality control of protein folding by retaining incorrectly folded protein subunits within the ER for degradation. Recombinant Calnexin protein was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. Alternative Names: P90 protein, CNX protein, CANX protein, , IP90 protein, FLJ26570 protein, Histocompatibility complex class I protein binding protein p88 protein
