背景
- IgG is the primary immunoglobulin protein found in blood/plasma, and functions to neutralize toxins, active complement, immobilizing pathogens and inducing opsonization, and cell-mediated cytotoxicity. IgM is typically referred to as a pentamer, containing 5 monomers held together by a J chain protein. IgM is found primarily in serum and is the first part of the antibody response to infection.
