The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the intercrine-macrophage inflammatory protein superfamily. It is a secreted protein thought to be involved in the generation and proliferation of early B-cell progenitors. Three transcript variants encoding three different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].
