Protein Background: DIMT1(Probable dimethyladenosine transferase)specifically dimethylates two adjacent adenosines in the loop of a conserved hairpin near the 3'-end of 18S rRNA in the 40S particle. Involved in the pre-rRNA processing steps leading to small-subunit rRNA production independently of its RNA-modifying catalytic activity.
Short Description: Recombinant DIMT1 protein that includes full length of human DIMT1 protein (accession number NP_055288.1) was expressed was expressed in E. coli cells with an N-terminal GST tag. The molecular weight of the protein is 62.07 kDa.
