Background: Interferon lambda-2, also called IFNL2 or IL28A is a class II cytokine receptor ligand related to type I interferons. This gene is mapped to 19q13.2. This gene encodes a cytokine distantly related to type I interferons and the IL-10 family. This gene, interleukin 28B(IL28B), and interleukin 29(IL29) are three closely related cytokine genes that form a cytokine gene cluster. It up-regulates MHC class I antigen expression. It also displays antitumor activity. The ligand/receptor complex seems to signal through the Jak-STAT pathway. This gene seems not to be essential for early virus-activated host defense in vaginal infection, but plays an important role in Toll-like receptor(TLR)-induced antiviral defense. It seems play a significant role in the antiviral immune defense in the intestinal epithelium.

Production: Natural and recombinant human IL-28A. There is no detectable cross-reactivity with other relevant proteins.

Application Note: Useful in Sandwich ELISA for Quantitative Detection of Antigen. Aliquot 0.1 mL per well of the 8000pg/mL, 4000pg/mL, 2000pg/mL, 1000pg/mL, 500pg/mL, 250pg/mL, 125pg/mL human IL-28A standard solutions into the precoated 96-well plate. Add 0.1 mL of the sample diluent buffer into the control well (Zero well). Add 0.1 mL of each properly diluted sample of human cell culture supernates, serum or plasma(heparin, EDTA) to each empty well. It is recommended that each human IL-28A standard solution and each sample be measured in duplicate.

- Store vials at 4°C prior to opening. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for 6 months at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
