1.0 M Tris HCl Buffer pH 8.5

This product is a concentrated stock solution and should be diluted appropriately with distilled, deionized water or equivalent to its final working concentration. This buffer consists of 1.0 M Tris HCl at  pH 8.5.  Meticulously prepared using ultra pure reagents dissolved in highly polished pharmaceutical grade (WFI) water.

Background: Tris solution is an abbreviation of the organic compound known as tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane. Tris is extensively used in biochemistry and molecular biology. In biochemistry, Tris is widely used as a component of buffer solutions, such as in TAE and TBE buffer, especially for solutions of nucleic acids.
