Background: Predicted to enable 7SK snRNA binding activity, cyclin-dependent protein serine/threonine kinase inhibitor activity, and identical protein binding activity. Predicted to be involved in negative regulation of G2/M transition of mitotic cell cycle and negative regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Predicted to be located in cytosol and nuclear speck. Predicted to be active in cytoplasm and nucleoplasm. Is expressed in heart and skeletal muscle. Orthologous to human HEXIM2 (HEXIM P-TEFb complex subunit 2).
