TCEA1 antibody detects transcription elongation factor A protein 1, also known as TFIIS. This protein stimulates RNA polymerase II during transcription elongation by enabling transcript cleavage and allowing polymerase to resume RNA synthesis after stalling. Through this activity, TCEA1 maintains transcriptional fidelity and supports expression of genes critical for development and stress response.
Research using TCEA1 antibody highlights its role in gene regulation and disease. Dysregulation of transcription elongation has been implicated in cancer, where altered RNA polymerase II activity contributes to aberrant gene expression programs. TCEA1 has also been studied in neurodevelopment, where proper elongation factor function is essential for neuronal differentiation and survival.
