    Zebrafish Rcc2, known as regulator of chromosome condensation 2, is a multifunctional protein that plays a role in cell cycle progression, cytoskeletal dynamics, and cellular signaling. It is particularly involved in mitotic events, where it regulates processes related to chromosome condensation and segregation. Rcc2 is also known to interact with small GTP binding proteins such as Rac1, thereby influencing cell migration, adhesion, and actin cytoskeleton organization.

    Zebrafish Rcc2 is an ortholog of the human RCC2 protein and shares significant sequence and functional similarity.
