- Cas9 (CRISPR-associated endonuclease 9) is an RNA-guided DNA endonuclease associated with the Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR) type II adaptive immunity system. CRISPR clusters are transcribed and processed into CRISPR RNA (crRNA).
