    别名

    DGK Zeta

    背景

DGK catalyzes a reaction terminating the protein kinase C (PKC)mediated signaling by converting diacylglycerol (DAG) to phosphatidic acid (PA), a signaling lipid which is involved in DNA synthesis, phospholipid synthesis, and regulation of several enzymes. DAG is an intermediate in phospholipid synthesis which functions as an allosteric activator of PKC. Research shows the zeta isoform of DGK undergoes tissue-specific alternative splicing resulting in an elongated N terminus enzyme predominantly in muscle.
