- Background: CNOT3 (CCR4-NOT transcription complex subunit 3) is a component of the CCR4-NOT core complex that functions as a general transcriptional regulator. In a genome-wide siRNA screen for genes essential for mouse embryonic stem cell self-renewal, CNOT3 was identified and found to co-occupy gene promoters with c-Myc and Zfx.
