背景
- Background: Thimet oligopeptidase (THOP1) is a kininase that uses zinc as a cofactor. THOP1 cleaves cytosolic peptides, making them unavailable for display on antigen-presenting cells. THOP1 also cleaves neuropeptides under 20 aa in length and can degrade beta-amyloid precursor protein to amyloidogenic peptides [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (Gene ID: 7064)].
