- Background: BTAF1 is a member of the SNF2-like family of ATPases that associates with the TATA-binding protein (TBP) and TAFII170 (TAF172) to form the B-TF-IID complex. As part of the general transcription machinery, BTAF1 acts as a regulator of TBP and RNA polymerase II transcription.
