Background: Mediates GPI anchoring in the endoplasmic reticulum, by replacing a protein\\\'s C-terminal GPI attachment signal peptide with a pre-assembled GPI. During this transamidation reaction, the GPI transamidase forms a carbonyl intermediate with the substrate protein.
