Background: Force generating protein of respiratory cilia. Produces force towards the minus ends of microtubules. Dynein has ATPase activity, the force-producing power stroke is thought to occur on release of ADP. Involved in sperm motility, implicated in sperm flagellar assembly (By similarity).
