应用备注
- NMDA NR2B Subunit antibody is specific for the 180 kDa NR2B subunit in Western blots of most brain regions. Immunolabeling blocked by pre-adsorption of antibody with the C-terminal fusion protein of the NR2B subunit that was used to generate the antibody. No reactivity towards the NR2A subunit of the NMDAR. Applications include Dot Blots (DB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP) and Western Blots (WB). Immunolabeling has been demonstrated in human, mouse and rat tissues. When internally tested under ideal conditions the working dilutions were 1:1000 for DB and WB, 1:1000-1:2000 for IHC, and in IP, 3 μ,g/200 μ,g lysate will quantitatively precipitate all NMDAR 2B.

背景
- The ion channels activated by glutamate are typically divided into two classes. Those that are sensitive to N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) are designated NMDA receptors (NMDAR). The NMDAR plays an essential role in memory, neuronal development and it has also been implicated in several disorders of the central nervous system including Alzheimer's, epilepsy and ischemic neuronal cell death. Overexpression of the NR2B subunit of the receptor has been associated with increases in learning and memory while aged, memory impaired animals have deficiencies in NR2B expression.
