背景
- HCG is a peptide hormone that is composed of one alpha and one beta subunit. hCG shares a common alpha chain with the pituitary hormones FSH, TSH and LH, but has a unique beta chain which is recognised by this antibody. hCG is secreted by placental syncytiotrophoblasts and stimulates the ovaries to produce steroids that are essential to pregnancy.Synonyms: CGB, CGB3, Choriogonadotropin subunit beta, beta hCG, hCG-beta
