Background: Chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes and basophils but not neutrophils or eosinophils. Augments monocyte anti-tumor activity. Is tethered on endothelial cells by glycosaminoglycan (GAG) side chains of proteoglycans. Processing at the N-terminus can regulate receptor and targetcell selectivity.
